We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Stud Groom to join our team. In this key role, you will play a vital role in the day-to- day care and management of our breeding stock, ensuring their well-being and maximizing their potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Yearling & Sales Expertise:

    • Be able to assist in coordinating aspects of yearling preparation for sales.

    • Proven sales experience and the ability to confidently prepare, educate and parade yearlings.

    • Confidently liaise with veterinarians and farriers as required.

  • Stud Duties:

    • Provide daily care for breeding stock, including feeding, mucking out, and general stud duties.

    • Assist with the monitoring of mare and foal health and report any concerns to management.

    • Assist with breeding procedures such as crush work during the breeding season.

    • Be able to maintain accurate and detailed records as required.

  • General Farm Duties:

    • Work as part of the team to safeguard the daily maintenance of facilities, ensuring cleanliness and safety.

    • Contribute to a positive and organized team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on a thoroughbred breeding farm.

  • Proven experience in all aspects of yearling preparation and sales presentations.

  • Excellent horsemanship skills with a calm and confident demeanor.

  • Strong understanding of equine health and welfare principles.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to high standards.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: The ability to confidently express ideas, work effectively with colleagues across departments, and clearly communicate information to achieve timely and efficient results.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Valid driver's license.
